Riches @ Richman: Leslie Liriano

Regulators must take a hard look at who is profiting while the alleged discrimination, roach infestation and other issues occur at One East Harlem, a Richman Signature Property. While there are several people who are on the payroll, this post will focus on Leslie Liriano, Assistant Property Manager for the building.

Leslie is currently (as of June 2025) the subject of a pending US Department of Housing and Urban Development complaint for racial discrimination. In a May 20, 2025 email, she admits she was “assisting” during the time various issues occurred. However, the same email stated she was “removing” herself from being a contact on issues - despite remaining on payroll.

Her paycheck was flowing while a wall remain damaged. While an electrical outlet stayed broken. While roaches crawled in the hallway and scared me (and continue to do so) in my apartment. Through it all, her payroll continued.

Regulators must look at people like Ms. Liriano to ask: was this person putting residents first? Or were they profiting while misery and unjust treatment flourished in their building?
